Visiting Capitol Hill

We metroed to Union Station which is also a station to Amtrak,Marc,and Virginia Railway Express[VRE]. The station had its most people during WW2 over 200,000 people every day.

We then went to the National Postal Museum. Being a mailman was dangerous back in the old days. If you were driving a carriage driven by horses there might be robberies or you might even be kidnapped. If you were driving a train you might have a better chance but robbers could still ride on a horse and catch up with a train. Trains were not as fast as they are today. They were still steam engines which meant that they are slow and horses could run as fast or even faster. During that time there were over 6.3million dollars in robberies. The army did not have to pay for mail. V-mail was the fasest mail at the time.

After that we went to the Botanical Garden. It was fun, we saw a lot of plants that we didn't see before. These are some of the plants we saw:
